قَالَ يَـٰٓإِبْلِيسُ مَا مَنَعَكَ أَن تَسْجُدَ لِمَا خَلَقْتُ بِيَدَىَّ ۖ أَسْتَكْبَرْتَ أَمْ كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلْعَالِينَ
TRANSLITERATION
Qāla yā iblīsu mā manaʿaka an tasjuda limā khalaqtu biyadayy, astakbarta am kunta minal-ʿālīn
ENGLISH TRANSLATION · TALAL ITANI
He said, “O Satan, what prevented you from prostrating before what I created with My own hands? Are you too proud, or were you one of the exalted?”
