وَكَأَيِّن مِّن قَرْيَةٍ عَتَتْ عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهَا وَرُسُلِهِۦ فَحَاسَبْنَـٰهَا حِسَابًا شَدِيدًا وَعَذَّبْنَـٰهَا عَذَابًا نُّكْرًا
TRANSLITERATION
Wakaʾayyim min qaryatin ʿatat ʿan amri rabbihā warusulihī faḥāsabnāhā ḥisāban shadīdaw waʿadhdhabnāhā ʿadhāban nukrā
ENGLISH TRANSLATION · TALAL ITANI
How many a town defied the command of its Lord and His messengers? So We held it strictly accountable, and We punished it with a dreadful punishment.
