وَلَا تَنكِحُوا۟ مَا نَكَحَ ءَابَآؤُكُم مِّنَ ٱلنِّسَآءِ إِلَّا مَا قَدْ سَلَفَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فَـٰحِشَةً وَمَقْتًا وَسَآءَ سَبِيلًا
TRANSLITERATION
Walā tankiḥū mā nakaḥa ābāʾukum minan-nisāʾi illā mā qad salaf, innahū kāna fāḥishataw wamaqtā, wasāʾa sabīlā
ENGLISH TRANSLATION · TALAL ITANI
Do not marry women whom your fathers married, except what is already past. That is improper, indecent, and a bad custom.
