قَالَ إِنَّمَآ أُوتِيتُهُۥ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ عِندِىٓ ۚ أَوَلَمْ يَعْلَمْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ قَدْ أَهْلَكَ مِن قَبْلِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلْقُرُونِ مَنْ هُوَ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُ قُوَّةً وَأَكْثَرُ جَمْعًا ۚ وَلَا يُسْـَٔلُ عَن ذُنُوبِهِمُ ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ
TRANSLITERATION
Qāla innamā ūtītuhū ʿalā ʿilmin ʿindī, awalam yaʿlam annallāha qad ahlaka min qablihī minal-qurūni man huwa ashaddu minhu quwwataw waʾaktharu jamʿā, walā yusʾalu ʿan dhunūbihimul-mujrimūn
ENGLISH TRANSLATION · TALAL ITANI
He said, “I was given all this on account of knowledge I possess.” Did he not know that God destroyed many generations before him, who were stronger than he, and possessed greater riches? But the guilty will not be asked about their sins.
