سَخَّرَهَا عَلَيْهِمْ سَبْعَ لَيَالٍ وَثَمَـٰنِيَةَ أَيَّامٍ حُسُومًا فَتَرَى ٱلْقَوْمَ فِيهَا صَرْعَىٰ كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ خَاوِيَةٍ
TRANSLITERATION
Sakhkharahā ʿalayhim sabʿa layāliw wathamāniyata ayyāmin ḥusūman fataral-qawma fīhā ṣarʿā kaʾannahum aʿjāzu nakhlin khāwiyah
ENGLISH TRANSLATION · TALAL ITANI
He unleashed it upon them for seven nights and eight days, in succession. You could see the people tossed around, as though they were stumps of hollow palm-trees.
