وَإِذْ قُلْنَا لِلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ ٱسْجُدُوا۟ لِـَٔادَمَ فَسَجَدُوٓا۟ إِلَّآ إِبْلِيسَ أَبَىٰ وَٱسْتَكْبَرَ وَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
TRANSLITERATION
Waʾidh qulnā lil-malāʾikatisjudū liʾādama fasajadū illā iblīs, abā wastakbar, wakāna minal-kāfirīn
ENGLISH TRANSLATION · TALAL ITANI
And We said to the angels, “Bow down to Adam.” They bowed down, except for Satan. He refused, was arrogant, and was one of the disbelievers.
