ثُمَّ بَدَّلْنَا مَكَانَ ٱلسَّيِّئَةِ ٱلْحَسَنَةَ حَتَّىٰ عَفَوا۟ وَّقَالُوا۟ قَدْ مَسَّ ءَابَآءَنَا ٱلضَّرَّآءُ وَٱلسَّرَّآءُ فَأَخَذْنَـٰهُم بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ
TRANSLITERATION
Thumma baddalnā makānas-sayyiʾatil-ḥasanata ḥattā ʿafaw waqālū qad massa ābāʾanaḍ-ḍarrāʾu was-sarrāʾu faʾakhadhnāhum baghtataw wahum lā yashʿurūn
ENGLISH TRANSLATION · TALAL ITANI
Then We substituted prosperity in place of hardship. Until they increased in number, and said, “Adversity and prosperity has touched our ancestors.” Then We seized them suddenly, while they were unaware.
